Buttermilk Fried Chicken

Crispy, golden fried chicken marinated in buttermilk for ultimate tenderness and flavor.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Marinate the drumsticks in buttermilk for at least 2 hours, or overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Prepare the coating by mixing flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Remove excess buttermilk from the chicken.
  4. Dredge each drumstick in the flour mixture to coat thoroughly.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  6. Fry the chicken until golden brown, about 12-15 minutes per side.
  7. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Pair with coleslaw or cornbread. Leftovers can be refrigerated for 3-4 days or frozen for 2-3 months.
