Copycat Shamrock McFlurry

Indulge in a homemade version of the classic Shamrock McFlurry with a minty, creamy vanilla base and crunchy Oreo chunks.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream (slightly softened)
  • 1/2 cup milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1/4 cup crushed Oreo cookies (reserve some larger pieces)
  • Green food coloring (optional)
  • Whipped cream (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Scoop the slightly softened vanilla ice cream into a blender. Add the milk and the peppermint extract.
  2. Blend on low to medium speed until the mixture is smooth and just combined—stop before it becomes too thin.
  3. If you want green color, add a couple of drops of green food coloring and pulse very briefly until the shade looks even.
  4. Pour the blended base into a bowl and gently fold in the crushed Oreo cookies, keeping some larger pieces whole for texture.
  5. Spoon into serving cups, top with a dollop of whipped cream and any reserved cookie pieces, and serve right away.

Notes

Use full-fat ice cream and whole milk for the creamiest result. If you prefer a lighter texture, swap half-and-half for milk. Reserve larger Oreo pieces to fold in at the end to maintain crunch.
