Creamy Beef and Cheese Pasta

A one-pan, family-friendly creamy beef and cheese pasta dish that’s quick to prepare and deeply satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (penne, rotini, or shells)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion becomes soft and translucent, about 3–4 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it up with a spoon and cook until browned and no pink remains. Drain any excess fat from the pan.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and heavy cream. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Let it cook for 3–5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  5. Add the cooked pasta and shredded cheese to the skillet. Toss or stir until the cheese melts and every noodle is coated in the creamy sauce.
  6. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed. Serve hot.

Notes

Use half-and-half for a lighter sauce, or swap ground turkey for a milder flavor. You can add frozen peas or chopped spinach for extra vegetables.
