Creamy Hot Chocolate

A silky, rich hot chocolate made with real melted chocolate chips, perfect for a cozy treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk (whole, 2%, or non-dairy alternative)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Pinch of fine salt (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Whipped cream, marshmallows, or cocoa for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pour the milk into a small saucepan. Add the sugar and salt if using. Warm the milk over medium heat, stirring occasionally until just before it simmers.
  2. Add the chocolate chips and stir with a whisk until fully melted and the mixture is glossy.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract if using. Taste and adjust sweetness, then pour into mugs and top with whipped cream or marshmallows.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, use almond, oat, or soy milk. Use a whisk to emulsify chocolate fully. Store leftovers for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
