Crispy French Toast Fried Chicken Sandwich

A delightful sandwich combining crispy fried chicken and fluffy French toast, perfect for brunch or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless and skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 8 slices of thick-cut bread
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 fresh fruit (e.g., berries or banana)

Instructions

  1. Start by marinating the chicken breasts in buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Let sit for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the breading: In one bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. In another bowl, combine the flour and breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat each chicken breast first in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally coat in breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat and fry the chicken until golden and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes on each side.
  5. Prepare the French toast in a separate skillet: Dip slices of bread in a mixture of eggs, milk, and a dash of vanilla extract, then cook until golden brown on both sides.
  6. Assemble the sandwich by placing a crispy fried chicken breast between two slices of French toast, drizzle with maple syrup, and top with whipped cream and fresh fruit.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
