Easy Christmas Cookies

Delightful and customizable cookies perfect for the holiday season, easy to prepare and ideal for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup red and green sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream the softened butter with the granulated and brown sugars until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and sprinkles.
  7. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Remove from oven and cool before serving or decorating.

Notes

For chewier cookies, slightly underbake and cool on the baking sheet. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
