Easy Christmas Cookies

Quick and festive cookies perfect for the holiday season, filled with cinnamon and vanilla.

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • Sprinkles or icing for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Beat in the egg, followed by the vanilla and almond extracts until well incorporated.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them apart.
  7. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Decorate with sprinkles or icing as desired.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
