Festive Eggnog French Toast

A delightful and heartwarming French toast made with rich eggnog, spices, and buttery bread, perfect for holiday breakfasts.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread (preferably challah or brioche)
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Butter (for cooking)
  • Powdered sugar (for serving)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggnog, eggs, vanilla extract, nutmeg, and cinnamon until well combined.
  2. Preheat your skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add a pat of butter to coat the surface.
  3. Dip each slice of bread into the eggnog mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side.
  4. Place the soaked bread slices onto the skillet and cook until golden brown, approximately 3-4 minutes on each side.
  5. Remove from the skillet and serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with maple syrup.
