Ground Beef Hot Honey Bowl

A quick and comforting bowl featuring ground beef glazed with hot honey, paired with roasted sweet potatoes and served over rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 2 Sweet potatoes, medium (peeled is optional)
  • 2 cups White rice, cooked
  • 3 tbsp Honey, hot
  • 1 Avocado, ripe
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro, fresh, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika, smoked
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare sweet potatoes by cutting into 1-inch cubes, toss with olive oil, paprika, cumin, and salt. Spread on a baking sheet and roast for 25–30 minutes.
  3. While potatoes roast, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking into pieces, for 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat, leaving about 1 tablespoon.
  4. Season beef with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Reduce heat to medium-low and add hot honey, stirring until coated and warmed through (1–2 minutes).
  5. Assemble bowls with cooked rice, hot honey beef, roasted sweet potatoes, sliced avocado, and sprinkle with cilantro. Serve warm.

Notes

Swap white rice for brown rice or quinoa for a healthier option. For vegetarian, use lentils or plant-based crumbles.
