Homemade Hot Chocolate

A rich and creamy homemade hot chocolate that’s perfect for cozy evenings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream or marshmallows (optional for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Pour in 2 tablespoons of milk and mix until you have a smooth paste.
  3. Gradually add the remaining milk while stirring continuously to maintain a creamy texture.
  4. Place the saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture is hot but not boiling.
  5. Remove it from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream or marshmallows.

Notes

For a richer flavor, add a dash of espresso or experiment with different types of milk.
