Honey Garlic Shrimp

A quick and easy honey garlic shrimp recipe that’s sweet, savory, and perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, sliced (separate white and green parts)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (use tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (substitute avocado or neutral oil if you prefer)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk the honey, soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper until smooth.
  2. Add the shrimp and toss gently to coat. Let them sit for about 15 minutes.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  4. Add the minced garlic and the white parts of the green onions; sauté for about 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  5. Add the marinated shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 3–4 minutes total, flipping once.
  6. Spoon the sticky glaze over the shrimp to coat them.
  7. Remove from heat, sprinkle with the green parts of the green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For gluten-free, choose tamari. For a lower-sugar option, reduce the honey and add citrus to balance the flavor.
