Melt-in-Your-Mouth Sugar Cookies

Delightful sugar cookies that melt in your mouth with a soft texture and buttery sweetness.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  6. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of the dough into balls and place them on ungreased baking sheets, spaced apart.
  7. Flatten each ball to about 1/4 inch thick using the bottom of a glass.
  8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges turn golden.
  9. Allow to cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
