Quick and gooey Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats topped with chocolate, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup marshmallows (mini or large; about 1 cup packed)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semisweet or milk chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Put a large saucepan over medium heat and melt the butter until it’s bubbling gently.
  2. Add the marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted and glossy.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter until smooth.
  4. Pour in the Rice Krispies and fold gently to coat without crushing.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch pan and press down firmly.
  6. Melt the chocolate chips in short bursts in the microwave or over a double boiler, then spread over the pressed Rice Krispie layer.
  7. Let cool at room temperature for about 20–30 minutes until the chocolate sets.
  8. Once set, cut into squares and enjoy.

Notes

Warm peanut butter slightly for easier mixing; avoid over-pressing the mixture in the pan.
