A delicious fusion of classic Philly cheesesteak flavors in a crispy quesadilla, perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb Beef (thinly sliced, flank steak or sirloin)
  • 1 Garlic clove (minced)
  • 1/2 Green pepper (thinly sliced)
  • 6 oz Mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1/2 Onion (medium, thinly sliced)
  • 2 tsp Mayonnaise
  • 1/8 tsp Black pepper (ground)
  • 1/2 Red pepper (thinly sliced)
  • 1/4 tsp Sea salt
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil (light)
  • 2 Flour tortillas
  • 3 slices Provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Start by heating the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, garlic, green pepper, red pepper, and mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté them until they are softened and fragrant.
  3. Next, add the beef to the skillet. Cook until it’s browned thoroughly and season it with salt and black pepper.
  4. On one side of each tortilla, spread a layer of mayonnaise.
  5. Place half of your beef mixture on one tortilla, layer with provolone cheese, and then top with the other tortilla.
  6. Carefully cook in the skillet until the bottom is golden brown and the cheese has melted, gently flip to cook the other side.
  7. Once both sides are crispy, slice the quesadilla into wedges and serve hot.

Notes

For a lighter take, substitute beef with grilled chicken or sautéed veggies. Don’t forget to store leftovers wrapped in plastic wrap or in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
