Pretzel Chicken

Crispy and flavorful pretzel-coated chicken that is easy to make and perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups pretzel sticks, crushed
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the buttermilk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until well blended.
  3. Dip each chicken breast into the buttermilk mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  4. Next, roll the chicken in the crushed pretzels and breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. Place the coated chicken on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked through and golden-brown.
  7. While the chicken bakes, melt the cheddar cheese and sour cream in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  8. Drizzle the creamy mustard-cheddar sauce over the pretzel chicken before serving.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free pretzel sticks and breadcrumbs.
