Best Hummus

A quick and easy homemade hummus recipe that’s creamy, flavorful, and packed with nutrition.

Ingredients

  • 1 can Chickpeas
  • 1 medium-to-large clove Garlic
  • 1/4 cup Lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup Tahini
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Sea salt, fine
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil, extra-virgin
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin, ground
  • 2 tbsp Ice water

Instructions

  1. Start by draining and rinsing the chickpeas under cold water.
  2. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, garlic, lemon juice, tahini, baking soda, and sea salt.
  3. Blend these ingredients together until smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
  4. While the processor is running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil and ice water until you reach the desired creamy consistency.
  5. Taste your creation! Adjust the seasoning, perhaps adding a little cumin for warmth if desired.
  6. Serve your hummus drizzled with olive oil and enjoy!

Notes

For an ultra-smooth texture, peel the chickpeas. Customize flavors with roasted red peppers or spices.
