Quick Croissant Apple Turnovers

Easy and quick apple turnovers made with flaky crescent dough and a cinnamon-kissed apple filling, perfect for brunch or a cozy snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 package crescent rolls (store-bought, typically 8 triangles)
  • 2 cups diced apples (firm varieties like Gala, Honeycrisp, or Pink Lady)
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting before serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice until evenly coated.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface and separate into triangles along the perforations.
  4. Spoon about a tablespoon of the apple mixture onto the wide end of each triangle, keeping the filling away from the edges.
  5. Roll each triangle from the wide end toward the tip, pinching the seams and tips to seal well.
  6. Arrange the turnovers on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Beat the egg and brush the surface of each turnover.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the pastries are puffed and deep golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, swap brown sugar for coconut sugar or use a baking-friendly sugar substitute. Ensure to choose a dairy-free crescent roll if desired.
