Saint Patrick’s Day Puppy Chow

A festive twist on classic puppy chow, this snack features bright green icing, cookie-dough dusting, and gold sprinkles, perfect for St. Patrick’s Day parties.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 16 ounces Wilton green icing
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup sugar cookie mix
  • 1 package gold sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Pour 6 cups of Rice Chex into a very large mixing bowl and set it aside.
  2. In a gallon-sized resealable bag, combine 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 3/4 cup sugar cookie mix. Seal and set the bag aside.
  3. Spoon 16 ounces of Wilton green icing into a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 20-second bursts, stirring between each, until the icing is melted and pourable.
  4. Pour the melted icing over the cereal in the bowl. Fold gently until the cereal pieces are evenly coated.
  5. Sprinkle in the package of gold sprinkles and fold again so the sprinkles adhere to the icing.
  6. Transfer coated cereal into the prepared bag with the powdered sugar and sugar cookie mix. Seal and shake vigorously until every piece is well dusted.
  7. Spread the coated cereal in a single layer on a baking pan to dry for 15–20 minutes.
  8. After drying, break any clumps and portion into bowls or treat bags, and serve.
