Simple Red Salsa

A quick and delicious red salsa made with fresh ingredients, perfect for dipping or as a topping for various dishes.

Ingredients

  • 32 oz (approximately 8) roma tomatoes
  • 1/8 cup cilantro, loosely packed
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 2 serrano chiles
  • 3/4 cup white onion
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Begin by roasting the roma tomatoes, garlic, and serrano chiles on a skillet over medium heat until they’re slightly charred.
  2. Once roasted, let them cool for a few minutes.
  3. In a blender, combine the roasted tomatoes, garlic, chiles with the chopped onion, cilantro, lime juice, and salt.
  4. Blend until you reach your desired consistency.
  5. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  6. Finally, drizzle with olive oil before serving.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the amount of serrano chiles depending on your heat preference. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
