Orange Chocolate Truffles

Delicious homemade orange chocolate truffles, perfect for holiday gifting and gatherings. A delightful blend of rich chocolate and zesty orange.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 cup cocoa powder (for rolling)
  • 1/2 cup crushed nuts (for rolling, optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
  2. Pour the hot cream over the dark chocolate chips in a mixing bowl and let it sit for a few minutes to soften the chocolate.
  3. Stir the mixture until smooth and fully melted.
  4. Add the orange zest and juice, mixing until well incorporated.
  5. Transfer the bowl to the refrigerator and let it chill for about 2 hours or until firm.
  6. Scoop small amounts of the mixture and roll them into balls.
  7. Roll each truffle in cocoa powder or crushed nuts for a festive coating.
  8. Present the truffles in a lovely box or on a serving platter, ready for enjoyment or gifting!

Notes

For best results, ensure the cream is hot before pouring it over the chocolate. These truffles can be made days in advance and stored in the refrigerator or frozen for later.
