Tree Cookies

Delightful tree-shaped cookies perfect for decorating and holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for decorating)
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Edible decorations (like sprinkles, candies, and edible glitter)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour and baking powder, mixing to form a soft dough.
  5. Roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thick and cut into tree shapes using cookie cutters.
  6. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until just lightly golden.
  7. Let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack before decorating.

Notes

Chill the dough for easier handling and consider using royal icing for sturdier decorations.
