Ultimate Cheesy Ground Beef Melt

A comforting gooey melt combining hearty beef flavors with the satisfying crunch of toasted bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices sourdough or white bread
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until well browned.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion turns translucent.
  3. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste, followed by Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Let it simmer until the liquid reduces.
  4. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  5. Preheat your skillet or griddle over medium heat and place two slices of bread, butter side down, onto the skillet.
  6. Layer cheddar cheese, followed by the beef mixture, and top with mozzarella. Place the remaining bread slices on top, butter side up.
  7. Grill each side for 3–4 minutes until golden. Flip carefully and cook until the cheese has melted and everything is warmed through.
  8. Slice and serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

This cheesy delight is best enjoyed fresh, paired with crispy french fries or a salad. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
