Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set it aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Scoop generous amounts of dough (about 2 tablespoons each) onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown, and the centers are set but still soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

For thicker cookies, allow the dough to chill for 30 minutes before baking.
